His 40-year real estate career includes many facets of the apartment industry such as management, design, development, acquisition, and construction with national and regional companies. 2nd Wave is Bruce’s second venture in apartment development with the Sembler family, the first being the Ballast Point Group which developed apartments and condominiums in the 2000’s. Prior to Ballast Point, Bruce was President/Partner of Trammell Crow Residential’s Southcoast division based in Houston, TX. Prior to Trammel Crow, Bruce led the Management division for Summit Properties’ Mid Atlantic, Atlanta and Florida regions during the 1990’s.

Bruce has been involved with industry related boards and associations, both regional and nationally throughout his entire career. He graduated from The University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in 1974.

Instrumental in founding 2nd Wave, Mark brings a wealth of real estate development expertise and business acumen to our day-to-day operations. Mark’s development career began with Duval Development and continued with our sister company, Blue Sky Communities. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Duke University (cum laude) and an MBA in real estate and finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

She then served as development manager for Norstar Development. Alissa earned her bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship and Juris Doctorate degree from Florida State University (cum laude).

After successful sales and service leadership in the professional sports industry, Stephen now lends his passion and expertise to our real estate team—specializing in site selection and land acquisitions. Stephen earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, master’s degree from the University of Florida, and MBA from the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor, Ontario.

As our director of finance, Bryan negotiates debt and equity for new development opportunities as well as debt placements on stabilized communities. He also manages key relationships among major lenders and investors, securing capital for 2nd Wave’s development deals. Bryan’s career includes more than 11 years of leading structured finance efforts for private equity multifamily organizations, developing finance strategies for new acquisitions, managing portfolio debt, and driving capitalization efforts for new development projects. Bryan holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and real estate from Florida State University.

After leading one of Chicago’s top residential design firms, Julianne brings more than a decade of experience with large-scale residential and commercial interior design projects to her role as our director of design. Her sophisticated view of modern living has been featured in several national publications. Julianne’s keen eye for detail and collaborative approach help 2nd Wave’s vision for each community come to life in beautiful ways. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design and a Bachelor of Arts in art history from Florida State University.
